Greece / Italy Trip
September 10, 2005 to October 2, 2005
Pam and I took the longest vacation we have ever taken (3 weeks) and visited Athens, the Greek islands on a 4 day cruise, the regions of Umbria and Le Marches in Italy, and Rome.
In Athens, we stayed with a friend of our next door neighbor's, and in Italy, we stayed at agriturismos, which are working farms and vineyards that include Bed and Breakfasts.
Our cruise to the Greek islands was arranged by Theni Kaziani of Oxyzen. The cruise made port calls at Mykonos, Patmos, Ephesus in Turkey, Rhodes, Crete, and Santorini. Theni also took us around Athens, including the Acropolis and the ancient agora, when we returned from our cruise.
Our trip in Italy was arranged by Tommaso De Poi of Trips2Italy (713) 952-4055. I had asked Tommaso to create an itenerary that would include medieval towns and stays at agriturismos, and he did a great job in doing that. He also arranged for our rental car and transfer to the airport by private car at the end of our trip. I also believe that we paid less than we would have by booking ourselves. I highly recommend Trips2Italy if you have the occasion to go.
